AFS Logistics announces Micheal McDonagh as President of Parcel. McDonagh has over 15 years of pricing and logistics experience, including nearly 10 years with FedEx. As President of Parcel at AFS, McDonagh will focus on pricing, strategy and customer experience to increase the efficiency and profitability of the parcel business unit.

“The parcel market is a rapidly changing and rapidly growing environment that requires absolute mastery of parcel service providers’ pricing and operating models. Micheal’s background in finance and strategy makes him ideally suited to ensure our clients thrive in a market that is becoming more difficult for them by the day,” said Tom Nightingale, CEO of AFS. “Having these types of capabilities in our arsenal will be a huge differentiator for our packages team and our customers.”

Atlanta-based McDonagh will lead and support a packaging team that manages over $4 billion in annual packaging spend. By optimizing costs with service levels and contracted rates, AFS enables parcel senders to offer a high level of service at a reduced cost.

“The expertise at AFS is unmatched in this industry. What attracted me to this role was the high standards that the company has set in all aspects of packaging. My goal is to uphold these standards and help provide the best possible experience for our customers. They’re the most important part of any plan for success,” says McDonagh. “But a high-performing division only works well when it works as a team. We have a strong team supported by cross-functional training that allows us to learn from each other for the benefit of our customers. Continuous improvement of how we work is crucial. We always have to ask ourselves how we can improve.”
