- CCO Michael Trestl: “Austrian Airlines is consistently expanding its summer flight schedule, thereby underscoring its position as the clear number 1 in Austria”
After a successful summer of 2022 and a well-booked winter, the Austrian Airlines team is preparing for a sunny summer of 2023. With 120 destinations and 1,270 weekly frequencies from Vienna, the home carrier wants to build on last summer and has significantly expanded its program for the coming year. In the 2023 summer timetable, the flag carrier flies to seven new destinations in addition to its established destinations and a significantly expanded European programme.
“The addition of four new A320neo aircraft is visible in the summer timetable. More planes allow for more targets. The Austrian team proved that we are ready to fly, so we start 2023 with high ambitions“, says Austrian Airlines CCO Michael Trestl. “We took advantage of the crisis and positioned ourselves competitively. With all determination, we will significantly expand our point-to-point traffic in summer 2023 and once again underline our position as the clear number 1 in Austria. We are the most charming and trustworthy travel partner and consistently continue on our course to connect Austria with the most beautiful places in Europe and the whole world in the best possible way. And that the Austrian way – socially, ecologically and economically.”
From Porto to Tromsø: Austrian Airlines makes holiday dreams come true
The destinations Porto, Marseille, Billund and Tivat are brand new to the programme. The four destinations are each served up to three times a week from Vienna. Palermo, which was previously only offered seasonally, has also been included in the summer timetable. In addition, the route to Vilnius, which was already part of the Austrian Airlines route network before the corona pandemic, will be offered again. There are also three flights a week to the popular Italian city on the north coast of Sicily and the capital of Lithuania. In addition, there is a weekly flight to Tromsø between June and August.
In addition to a total of 43 destinations and almost 300 weekly flights to the Mediterranean, the long-haul network also offers a lot. Los Angeles, for example, is again offered in the Austrian route plan with non-stop flights from Vienna.
Austrian Airlines says “Thank you Austria”
After a successful summer 2022 and the resulting good liquidity development as well as the granting of a credit line by the Lufthansa Group, an early and full repayment of the state-secured loan will be possible in 2020. In order to thank the passengers and all Austrians for their trust in Austrian Airlines, discounted flights are being offered as part of a thank-you campaign. “We would not have been able to fly through these difficult times without Austria’s support. Now it’s time to say thank you. That’s why we’re offering tickets for a total of 30 destinations with discounts of up to 25 percent, including destinations in the new summer timetable“, says Austrian Airlines CCO Michael Trestl. The promotion applies to all new bookings in the Economy Light fare up to November 20th and for a travel period from November 7th to June 30th, 2023.
