Icelandair has introduced two new destinations in Europe for summer 2023, Prague and Barcelona. Both cities will be connected to the airline’s extensive North American route network. Icelandair has already flown to Barcelona, but Prague is a brand new addition this year.
The seasonal destination Prague will be served from 1 June to the end of October 2023 with four weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Flights to Barcelona will be operated until the end of October 2023. From April to May and September to October, flights operate twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with the addition of a Thursday flight from June to August. Icelandair has already offered flights to Barcelona, but the morning schedule offers new connections between Barcelona and North America.
Bogi Nils Bogason, CEO of Icelandair:
“We’re excited to add these two great cities to our extensive summer program. Prague and Barcelona are exciting destinations known for art, culture and history. This is the first time we have scheduled flights to Prague and we see great opportunities in the convenient connecting times to our flights to and from North America. This way we can improve connectivity between the two markets and connect the people of Iceland and Prague.”
Jaroslav Filip, Aviation Business Director at Prague Airport:
“The opportunity to welcome a new airline at Prague Airport is always a clear proof of the attractiveness of the Czech market. Icelandair’s new direct service will not only support outbound tourism to Iceland, but will also provide another connection to Icelandair’s broad network of connections in North America. Thanks to this new connection, we expect further strengthening of tourism between the Czech Republic and the United States or Canada.”
