In a movement that signals logistics business‘s continued quest to cement its leadership position as the only English-language logistics magazine with a truly international distribution has proclaimed it an industry veteran Peter MacLeod as a magazine editor.
Peter has served as the title’s news editor since early 2021, replacing Paul Hamblin, who is pursuing other interests. A journalist with 35 years experience in both consumer and B2B publishing, Peter’s career includes 11 years as an editor at SHD Logistics. As a founding jury member of the IFOY Award, current jury member of the Logistics Hall of Fame and ambassador for the transport and logistics organization Transaid, Peter is well known in the industry and brings an international perspective to the role from his base in Warsaw, Poland.
“It is a great pleasure to welcome Peter to the Logistics Business Magazine team,” said David Priestman, Director of Logistics Business Publishing Ltd. “In recent years he has been responsible for our website and other digital products such as our weekly newsletter and is increasingly becoming the face of the magazine at webinars and exhibitions. Already well integrated into our team, he has brought greater opportunities thanks to his reputation and connections. We are entering a new era for the logistics business with great enthusiasm and confidence.”
Peter added: “I have thoroughly enjoyed working with David and the Logistics Business team from day one. At heart I’m an avid fan of print publications, but while many titles struggle for traction, I see Logistics Business only going from strength to strength. While we live or die by our circulation, we also understand the importance of filling the magazine with quality, unique content. Paul Hamblin has done this tremendously for the last seven years and I thank him for handing over the title in such rude health.”
Peter’s appointment as magazine editor is part of an increased effort by Logistics Business to improve its performance. It has garnered growing interest in its series of themed webinars and has responded to demand for more content by launching a new podcast stream. Launching in early 2023, the podcasts, titled “Logistics Business Conversations,” are aimed at busy logistics professionals looking to learn on the go. Hosted by Peter and published via the popular Acast platform, the podcasts will be available on all major podcast providers including Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Amazon Music.
Besides the digital version of the magazine, which is published quarterly to coincide with the distribution of the print version, has now been configured to be translated and/or vocalized into all major languages, from Afrikaans to Zulu. This upgrade will likely make Logistics Business even more popular with readers who don’t count English as their first language.
Peter’s first issue as magazine editor will be the February 2023 issue. He can be contacted for possible editorial contributions by email at email@example.com advertisers interested in the magazine, webinars or podcasts are asked to contact Ian, Paul or Barbara from the commercial team on +44 (0)1480 455660.
