LOT passenger en route to New York JFK arrested after knocking on cockpit door

A passenger on a plane from Poland to JFK airport was arrested after knocking on the cockpit door mid-flight.

The disruption happened aboard LOT Polish Airlines Flight LO6, which departed from Warsaw’s Chopin Airport and landed “uneventfully” at New York’s JFK Airport around 8:30 p.m. Friday evening.

According to eyewitnesses, the man knocked on the cockpit door and started screaming and became aggressive when he was denied entry to the cockpit. The man had to be overpowered by crew members and other passengers. A flight attendant was hit during the fight.

Port Authority police met the plane at Gate 9 of Terminal 7, where the suspect was arrested. He was taken to a local hospital for an evaluation. It is not known whether charges will be brought against him.
