Precision Air ATR 42-500 dives into Lake Victoria on landing in Bukoba, Tanzania

On the morning of November 6, a Precision Air ATR 42-500 (registered 5H-PWF) with 53 passengers on board landed in Lake Victoria while landing at Bukoba Airport in Tanzania. The aircraft operated domestic flight PW494 between Dar Es Salaam and Bukoba. A search and rescue mission has begun.

The number of passengers and crew rescued and the number of injured/dead have yet to be communicated.

Precision Air took to social media to announce the mishap and said the rescue team had been dispatched to the site. The airline will later provide information about the accident.
