DETAILS: David Shillingford, chief strategy officer at Everstream Analytics, interviews Lance Starks, vice president of global sourcing at Shaw Industries, on what actions need to be taken to put the supply chain back in better shape.

ORGANIC: Starks co-led the business and technology transformation of Shaw’s Procure-to-Pay process. He then joined Shaw’s sourcing and procurement department, gaining experience in leadership, negotiation and strategic sourcing. Starks also worked in the finance and energy industries prior to his final accomplishments at Shaw.


“We like to talk about the relationships we have with our suppliers and with our customers. We are talking about supplier experience. We talk about customer experience.”

“Probably one of the best stories we love to tell is the relationship our truck drivers have with our customers. And in many situations, the truck drivers hold the key to our customers’ warehouse and they have that trusting relationship to open in the morning to drop off product, turn on the coffee pot so it’s ready when the staff comes in.”

“We have a large private fleet for last mile delivery and the relationship will drive that forward. And we were so looking forward to this story.”
