A 170,000 sq ft distribution center in Hatfield, Hertfordshire has been acquired by property investment firm St Modwen. The property is fully let to the British delivery company Yodel.

The warehouse includes 158 loading docks and 233 truck parking spaces, as well as office space and a social facility for employees.

It is situated on the site of Hatfield Business Park, 22 miles outside central London and with close access to the A1 and M25.

James Cooper, Head of Transaction at St Modwen Logistics, said: “There has long been a shortage of modern logistics space in many areas of the South East of England. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a quality warehouse in an exceptional location, leased to a leading UK company and continues our growth in the highly competitive sub-markets in and around London.”

The facility is the southernmost of Yodel’s three distribution centers in the UK. The other two are in Shaw in Greater Manchester and Wednesbury in the West Midlands.
