UPS announced the completion of its acquisition of Bomi Group, an international healthcare logistics provider.

The acquisition means UPS Healthcare, the logistics conglomerate’s arm serving the healthcare industry, will strengthen its assets by adding all of Bomi’s temperature-controlled facilities in 14 different countries and adding 3,000 Bomi employees to the UPS team.

Following the acquisition of Bomi, UPS Healthcare now has access to 216 facilities dedicated to distributing healthcare products in 37 countries worldwide.

Kate Gutmann, UPS Executive Vice President and President of International Healthcare and Supply Chain Solutions, said: “Our combined team, vehicles and advanced facilities will enable us to expand our pan-European cold chain network and offer the next generation of healthcare logistics solutions our customers.”

Wes Wheeler, President of UPS Healthcare added, “Given the capabilities Bomi Group brings to our network, UPS Healthcare is confident that this acquisition will create significant new services and synergies in Europe and Latin America.”
