With the new “Automation Native” version, Avantra is setting standards for SAP operations

Avantra, the AIOps platform for SAP operations automation, has launched its latest software release, Avantra 23.

The updates deliver a quality of service never seen before in SAP operations with ready-to-use workflow automation templates including SAP system update, automated SAP security analysis and much more. With the advent of hybrid architectures in enterprise landscapes, SAP operations are becoming increasingly complex, making the need to save time even more important.

The new Avantra 23 platform update offers companies that rely on enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems something that nothing else can – exceptional service quality of ERP operations. Research from Deloitte shows that 55% of an IT budget is spent on keeping things running and only 19% on building innovative new capabilities. The latest Avantra release offers customers a power multiplier that frees talent from time-consuming manual tasks. Even a conservative 10% reduction alone saves organizations millions and hours of time over the course of a year that could be used to launch the applications organizations crave.

John Appleby, CEO of Avantra said, “There is so much to do in enterprise IT operations, but not enough people to do it. So we must think of them as automators rather than operators. This is the talent transformation that needs to happen in our industry.

“The biggest challenge for business automation is that key talent has all the knowledge about the activities an organization wants to automate, and they are also the busiest. With Avantra 23, we solve this paradox by automating repetitive monitoring and maintenance activities and creating a foundation that allows the automation native to rise above the manual work that’s holding them back. And that’s how the Avantra AIOps platform enables hyper-automation for customers.”

The enhanced automation engine offers updated, customizable workflow templates and the ability to automate system updates, freeing up operations team time to focus on projects with greater business value that deliver shareholder value, revenue and profitability. At the tech company’s Customer Summit in October, Appleby said, “There’s no easy way to say it, companies just need to prioritize automation. That also necessitates the need to give ERP operations teams a little room for automation, as it brings 10x more benefits.”

Bernd Engist, CTO of Avantra, explains: “Anything that automates Avantra pays off by taking less work off your most important assets. System updates that previously took four days of complex manual operations are now automated and complete in hours. Our fully automated system upgrade capability now offers support for Oracle and Sybase databases, in addition to SAP HANA – a key migration project for many customers at the moment. This new release gives Avantra customers the ability to better meet their business needs – be it digital transformation, hyper-automation or cloud migration projects.

“Avantra customers have always been able to integrate with many ITSM solutions, including ServiceNow. Avantra 23 now leverages our platform’s rich SAP automation capabilities to allow customers to connect to other workflow and automation systems such as Red Hat’s Ansible. Developed in partnership with Red Hat, this integration enables customers to rapidly build and deploy SAP automation solutions as part of any existing automation strategy.”

Avantra 23 is available in Standard, Professional and Enterprise editions; all with an improved user experience and advanced monitoring capabilities. While the Professional edition adds the advanced automation engine, the Enterprise edition offers a wealth of automation templates and Red Hat Ansible integration alongside the existing SAP HotNews analytics and AI predictive analytics introduced in Avantra 21.11.
